Three kits, three levels
Eligible free tools
Lowe's eligible list includes the DeWalt 20V reciprocating saw, drywall cut-out tool, oscillating multi-tool, 4-1/2" grinder, cut-off tool, random orbit sander, 6-1/2" circular saw, jigsaw, compact router, impact driver, drywall screwgun, a fast charger and an extra 5Ah battery. The bigger tools on the list sell for around $199 to $249 bare, such as the circular saw ($199), jigsaw ($239) and router ($249), so pick those first to get the most out of the deal.
On the kit's product page, the offer shows as Get Items with Purchase. Choose your free tool there, add both to the cart and check that the tool shows at $0 before you pay.
Our take
- Already on DeWalt 20V: the 5Ah kit for $199 with a free circular saw or jigsaw is the easy one. You get two spare batteries and a tool for less than the batteries usually cost.
- Starting from scratch: the 3-tool kit at $449 is the better buy. Three bare tools plus two 8Ah packs and a fast charger is a full starter set for about what two of the tools cost on their own.
- On another battery platform: skip it. Free tools only help if you already run, or plan to run, DeWalt 20V.
