The tool promos running right now at Lowe's and Home Depot, sorted by how long you have. Most of these are "buy the kit, pick a free tool" offers that run into January; a couple end this week.

DeWalt 20V: buy a battery kit, get 1 to 3 tools free

Through January 20, 2027

Three battery kits, each with free bare tools from the eligible list (circular saw, jigsaw, router, recip saw, grinder, impact driver and more). Our full breakdown is in the DeWalt deal post.

Lowe's

DeWalt 12V XTREME: buy a $99 tool, get the batteries free

Through January 27, 2027

The reverse of the 20V deal. Each of these brushless 12V bare tools is marked down to $99, and the free item is a 12V 2-pack battery and charger kit ($189) or a single 5Ah battery. If you have ever wanted a compact impact for under-car work, this is the way in.

On the product page, use the Get Items with Purchase section to pick the 2-pack battery and charger kit. It is the better of the two free options by about $110.

Lowe's

Kobalt 24V: $149 battery kit, one free tool

Through January 20, 2027

Two 4Ah batteries and a charger for $149, plus one free 24V bare tool. The free list includes the 3/8" ratchet ($139), 6-1/2" circular saw ($129), 5" grinder ($129), 4-1/2" grinder ($109), reciprocating saw ($99) and the 17-piece oscillating tool ($99). Pick the ratchet or a saw to get the most out of it.

Home Depot

Ryobi ONE+ 6-tool combo kit, $100 off

New lower price, no end date posted

Drill, impact driver, circular saw, recip saw, multi-tool and light, with a 4Ah battery, a compact battery, charger and bag. The easiest way to start a cordless kit from zero.

Home Depot

Milwaukee M18 7-1/4" circular saw kit, $436 off

Limit 3 per order, no end date posted

The M18 7-1/4" circular saw with two 5.0Ah batteries, a charger and a 7-1/4" Ultra Fine blade, marked down from $645 to $209. If you were going to buy a circular saw kit this season, this is the one to beat.

Home Depot

Milwaukee: free M18 5Ah battery with a qualifying purchase

Ends November 2, online only

Buy a qualifying M18 tool online and Home Depot adds the 5Ah XC battery ($169) free. The qualifying list changes; the battery page shows it under Shop This Offer. Short window, so if you were going to buy Milwaukee this month, buy it this week.

Lowe's

Metabo HPT MultiVolt: buy a saw, get a free item

Ends this week

Metabo HPT's 18V MultiVolt bare tools (7-1/4" circular saw $169, recip saw $129, oscillating tool $129) each come with a free promotional item through the end of the month. Lowe's shows the free item on each product page.

How these work

Getting the free item

  • Lowe's: on the kit's product page, the offer appears as Get Items with Purchase. Choose the free tool there, add both to the cart, and confirm the tool shows at $0 before you pay. Selection varies by store.
  • Home Depot: the free item is added at checkout when a qualifying tool is in the cart. Online orders only for the Milwaukee battery.
  • Both: free items are usually bare tools (no battery). That is fine when the deal is built around a battery kit; it is the catch with combo-kit markdowns.
If we had to pick one

Already on a platform: take that brand's battery deal; you were going to buy batteries anyway. Starting from nothing: the DeWalt 3-tool kit at $449 or the Ryobi 6-tool combo at $199, depending on whether you want pro-grade or good-enough.
